MJB Eagle Feather Homes, partnering with SBCA, brings you Component Technology Workshops (CTWs) – online presentations on key issues dealing with roof trusses, floor trusses, wall panels and component construction. Designed for professionals in the construction industry, CTWs cover topics such as building codes, industry guidelines in the field, the principles of truss design and much more!

Many courses can qualify for continuing education credit (CEUs/PDHs); contact SBCA staff for more information about specific course qualifications.

Load Development
Form a better understanding of loads as they apply to trusses. This 1-hour workshop covers:
  • Types of loads
  • The concept of load duration
  • What constitutes minimum load requirements
  • How loads are distributed to structural members

Coursework includes solved examples and problems in quizzes. Upon completing the course, participants will understand load development principles and be able to solve simple problems with uniformly distributed load, triangular loads, and point loads; and understand the application of these solutions in a light-framed wood structure.

This course is approved by the Florida Construction Industry Licensing Board.
